ADI and Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary have received the permits to import the lions, rescued from circuses in Peru and Colombia, to South Africa.
The fabulous phase one natural habitats where the lions will live have been inspected by the authorities and are ready to receive the lions.Thank you to everyone who contributed, there will be further expansion as the lions settle in.
The operation to relocate the lions has a lot of moving parts. It includes bringing the lions from Colombia to Peru, where the rest of the lions will board for the main flight to Africa, plus all the loading, trucks and ground handling in three different countries, and government agencies to liaise with.
We hope to confirm the flight date very soon – please donate, it’s time to send the lions home.
